Mother Nature

First appearance

The forest is a vast woodland located in the vicinity of Jump City. Its flora and fauna is protected by Mother Nature.

When Beast Boy lost his ability to transform into animals, he decided to travel to the forest in an attempt to reconnect with Mother Nature and regain his powers. However, while he enjoyed the beautiful sun, fresh air and clean water, he quickly changed his mind when he noticed that a bear had bathed in the river he was drinking from. He greeted several of the forest's fauna, but the animals simply attacked him. Throughout his three weeks, he was chased by various animals and struck by lightning whenever he attempted to build a fire. Eventually, his teammates traveled to the forest in search of him, but Robin, who harbored a negative view against nature, resorted to eating butterflies to survive despite the fact that they had barely entered the environment. Elsewhere, Beast Boy complained about the harsh conditions of the forest and chased after a rabbit in an attempt to eat it, but ran into Mother Nature, who explained that the harsh environment was a result of her firm beliefs in the concept of survival of the fittest and the circle of life. However, she was entranced by the idea of tacos and decided to follow Beast Boy's suggestions to convert the forest into a modern city. Mother Nature thanked Beast Boy for improving the city with a hug which allowed him to regain his shapeshifting abilities. He transformed into various animals and ended with a butterfly, but Robin, having gone feral, consumed him.[1]

Raven played with her Pretty Pretty Pegasus dolls in the forest when Starfire, more knowledgeable of Earth's customs as a result of a spell, criticized her for playing with dolls meant for babies. After she floated away, Robin, Beast Boy, and Cyborg appeared behind a bush and screamed, "Bummer!"[2]

After Beast Boy changed the face of currency from paper to bees, Robin, who refused to follow the change, found himself in the forest. He spotted a beehive and attempted to retrieve it in order to collect bees to use as money. The nest, however, fell onto his head, causing the bees to chase him until he ran into a bear, who proceeded to pursue him as well due to the honey he was drenched in.[3]
