Logline

When Starfire is the only Titan invited to the Titans East Annual Dance Party, Beast Boy teaches her how to lie so that she can spare the other Titans' feelings — but her lies turn all of the Titans against each other.[1]

Synopsis

Robin, Cyborg, and Beast Boy are celebrating over the news that the Titans East Annual Dance Party is tonight and are excited to show off their new moves. Raven express her excitement in a monotonous voice before Robin orders a team huddle. He explains that it is time to break it down and has the Titans practice their dance routine for the party. Finishing with an exchange of high-fives (except Raven), the Titans decree themselves ready for the party. Robin asks what time the party starts, and Raven worriedly suggests to check the invite. However, Cyborg and Beast Boy reveal they never got an invite. Realization dawns on all four Titans and they explode into tears. Quickly regrouping themselves, Robin wonders why they were denied entrance when they were the life of the party last year.

They flash back to the dance where Aqualad and Batgirl are happily dancing until Robin interrupts by butt bumping Aqualad repeatedly. Cyborg chugs punch straight from the bowl, but it doesn't stay down. Beast Boy, as a monkey, swings on a disco ball causing it break and crash onto Aqualad, knocking him down. Raven then changes the music to one that better suits her, causing Bumblebee, Speedy, and Más y Menos to listen in horror. Forward to the present, Robin restates his statement of being the life of the party.

In the kitchen, Silkie is looking dejectedly at his food bowl, but starts panting and hopping as a way to gain Starfire's attention. She opens a can of tuna much to Silkie's happiness and proceeds to drop into the bowl when Beast Boy enters, causing Starfire to place the can back into her hands. Beast Boy explains that none of them were invited to the Titans East Annual Dance Party as Silkie brings the food bowl to Starfire and tries to gain her attention. However, Starfire reveals that she did in fact receive an invitation and proceeds to inform the others. Beast Boy stops her advising her not to tell them she was invited as to spare their feelings. He offers to teach her to lie and in return she can take him to the party. Meanwhile, Silkie attempts to grab the can of tuna, but Starfire moves the can after agreeing to Beast Boy's deal.

Beast Boy has Starfire start off with an easy lie which she succeeds in after lying that the weather was seventy-six degrees when in reality it was seventy-four. Meanwhile, a starving Silkie enters Starfire's bed and imagines her stuffed animals as food, eating them all. Starfire tells Robin, Cyborg, and Raven that she and Beast Boy will be at the movies that night and they decide to tag along. Silkie finds himself in Robin's room and eats one of his bombs and his staff which elongates in his belly. Beast Boy ponders the situation they've put themselves in, but Starfire agrees to lie even more.

Starfire tells Cyborg that Raven would prefer him not to go to the movies due to his loud popcorn chewing. Raven denies when confronted, but Cyborg reveals Starfire never lies and decides not to go to the movies. Raven interrogates Starfire, but she tells her that Robin ordered her to clean the refrigerator as she is the slob in the group. In Beast Boy's room, Silkie consumes his litterbox, boxer shorts, and a case of tofu. Ironically, Silkie spits out the tofu and growls at it. Raven destroys the refrigerator and spills Robin's cereal in his face before announcing she won't be attending the movies. Beast Boy tells Starfire to stop lying as it's turning their friends against each other, but to no avail. Silkie consumes Raven's spell book and starts to float. He eats a jar containing a plant and burps, turning her bed into black ooze. The larva happily drinks it up, but belches and the ooze transforms into a demon. Silkie, unfazed, bites the demon's leg and swallows him whole. In his room, Robin is cleaning his staff when Starfire enters to tell him Cyborg does not want him to come to the movies as he does not want to sit next to his unpleasent stench. Silkie enters Cyborg's room and eats a powerful vacuum before using it to suck everything in the room into his mouth.

Cyborg purposely chews his chips loudly to annoy Raven, but Robin grabs him and forces him to smell his clothes. The Boy Wonder is then dumped by the contents of a trash can by Raven, sarcastically referring to "his" comment about her being a slob. The three then start yelling at each other as Beast Boy and Starfire consider their options. They choose to attend the party thinking the Titans have settled down. Arriving at the Tower, they see the living room in ruins due to the fight between Robin, Cyborg, and Raven. A gigantic Silkie crawls out of the elevator when the can of tuna arrives near him. He happily eats the can only to feel his stomach rumbles. Starfire pushes Beast Boy into the hallway as Silkie erupts, filling the room with trash. He returns to his normal size as the three Titans continue their fight. Starfire orders them to stop fighting and reveals the truth behind her lies. She exclaims that she is ashamed for having done so and how her lying caused her teammates to turn against each other and she forgot to care for Silkie. Starfire sees herself unfit to be a Titan and decides to leave the Tower. Robin, Cyborg, and Raven quickly forgive her and decide to clean the Tower. Beast Boy praises Starfire on her apology, but she winks leaving Beast Boy unaware if she was lying or telling the truth.
